❓️ How do we calculate shipping costs?

Packages are shipped through the best available method, depending on the product and destination. Shipping costs will be calculated accordingly and added to your shopping cart. To get your shipping cost calculated, simply add products to the shopping cart and enter your postal code. Freight Carrier may be required for large or heavy items. Freight Carrier delivery does not include carrying the package into the building or unpacking. Lift-gate service is available for an additional charge which is automatically included in your shipping quote.

Products are usually shipped within 24 hours of order placement (on business days) from our warehouses in Canada and the US.

✅️ How do I get the status of my order?

After payment has been made for your purchase, you will receive an email within 24 business hours from our Sales staff with a tracking number. Majority of our carriers have online tracking available.

Who doesn’t like spending time outdoors, especially in the summer? Warm, sunny weather and there you are hanging out with your friends and family while enjoying nice - and ice! - cold beer.

The latter, however, might become an issue since beer has a nasty tendency of getting warm, which inevitably ruins any party.

Solutions? Not many. If only there was a compact, portable fridge that doesn’t require electricity, keeps the beverage cold long enough and is easy to carry around… Well, it turns out there is one - it’s called a jockey box!

What is a Jockey Box for a Beer Keg

A keg jockey box, aka “picnic beer cooler”, is essentially an insulated container designed for cooling and dispensing beer and other beverages that are supposed to be served cold.

A typical beer jockey box consists of the following parts:

the container itself
cooling component (stainless steel coil or aluminum cold plate)
cooling agent - ice
tap/dispenser + accessories

Despite looking and sounding hi-tech, the jockey box beer dispenser is really easy to use and maintain. You just connect your beer keg to the jockey box beer cooler, load some ice cubes inside and - bam! - you’ve got the party started!

Types of Mobile Draft Beer Dispensers & Coolers

There are several types of mobile draft beer dispensers. Those that require electricity like mobile beer flash coolers and camping beer coolers that require only ice.

Depending on the cooling component we mentioned above, portable beer coolers come in two types: jockey box with chilling stainless steel coils and jockey box with a chilling plate.

Choosing between the two is not such a big deal since both do what they’re supposed to - cool beer, so it’s more of personal preference. But let’s go into some detail anyway.

Coil jockey box feature a stainless steel coil, through which your beer is run. The cooling effect is achieved via pre-loaded ice coming in contact with the coil thus making it cold, which in turn cools the beer that’s being run through the coil.

✓ Usage tips:

use 50’ and 70’ coils for small to medium amounts of beer. For larger events where beer needs to be poured continuously in large volumes, you should go with 120’ coils
check on the ice condition regularly and drain the excessive water from the bath to maintain the cool temperature
make sure the coil is fully covered with ice/water at all times - this will prevent the beer from going foamy
using crushed ice is not recommended due to its melting too quickly. Go with cubed ice instead

Cold plate jockey box operates using the same principle as its coil-based counterpart with one little difference - here, the ice covers an aluminum cold plate, through which the beer is run. The cooling effect is achieved via the beer coming in contact with the cold plate, which is in turn cooled down by the ice and water.

✓ Usage tips:

after the keg’s been connected, tap it and dispense a small amount of beer into the jockey box before adding ice
crushed ice is preferable for this type of beer keg jockey box
the plate should be fully covered with ice/water to prevent the beer from going foamy
drain the melted ice water from the cooler regularly to keep the temperature low

Getting Your Mobile Beer Chiller Ready for Action

Most of our clients prefer buying pre-assembled mobile beer chillers where you don’t need to do anything other than a simple setup procedure:

Unpack the jockey box
Get the ice and keg (or kegs)
Connect the keg to the box using a beer hose
Run some beer through the system to ease the cooling process
Add the ice making sure it fully covers the coil/plate
Open the tap, pour some ice-cold beer into a cup and enjoy!

Portable Beer Cooler Cleaning and Maintenance

Like any party inevitably come to an end, every portable beer cooler & dispenser requires cleaning after having been in use.

The cleaning process is not that difficult and can be handled by anyone. First, you should flush out any beer that’s been left in the system. Then, take the cleaning kit (see our cleaning kits selection) and clean the insides of your jockey box using a chemical solution designed specifically for this purpose. Finally, rinse the surface with plenty of water.
