Refrigeration System Parts and Components
The refrigeration cycle runs on a simple principle: a liquid absorbs heat when it evaporates and releases heat when it condenses. The compressor pushes refrigerant vapor into the condenser coil, where it gives off heat and turns to liquid. That liquid passes through a filter dryer and a metering device, which drop its pressure and temperature, before it reaches the evaporator coil and absorbs heat again, turning back into vapor. From there it returns to the compressor and the cycle repeats.
