❓️ How do we calculate shipping costs?

Packages are shipped through the best available method, depending on the product and destination. Shipping costs will be calculated accordingly and added to your shopping cart. To get your shipping cost calculated, simply add products to the shopping cart and enter your postal code. Freight Carrier may be required for large or heavy items. Freight Carrier delivery does not include carrying the package into the building or unpacking. Lift-gate service is available for an additional charge which is automatically included in your shipping quote.

Products are usually shipped within 24 hours of order placement (on business days) from our warehouses in Canada and the US.

What Is a Keg?

Keg definition is pretty straightforward and it goes like this: keg is essentially a pressurized container in the form of a barrel used to store, transport and serve various drinks. Technically, kegs can be used for any beverage - whether it’s alcoholic or non-alcoholic, carbonated or non-carbonated. However, they are most commonly used for beer.

Beer Keg Sizes

Kegs come in different sizes and volumes, most of which have been established historically depending on the type of beverage.

Despite the fact that many people refer to a keg as a unit of measure, it isn’t. Keg sizes are not standardized, and they can come in a variety of shapes and forms. The volume, however, remains more or less constant.

Currently, most beer kegs are available in the following volumes:

½ barrel aka “half-barrel” (15.5 gallons/58.67 liters)
¼ barrel aka “quarter-barrel” aka “Pony Keg” (7.75 gallons/29.34 liters)
⅙ barrel (5.17 gallons/19.57 liters)

However, there are plenty of other, different beer keg sizes such as:

Mini-keg aka “Bubba” (1.32 gallons/5 liters) - disposable kegs made of aluminum and therefore can be recycled
⅛ barrel (3.875 gallons/14.67 liters)
European half-barrel (6.6 gallons/25 liters)
European standard barrel aka “Import keg” (13.2 gallons/50 liters)
