This is a replacement temperature sensor probe for Danfoss ERC-series digital thermostats, including the Danfoss Digital Thermostat sold here. The controller reads the probe to track cabinet or evaporator temperature, and that reading is what drives both cooling and defrost timing, so a damaged or failing probe shows up as an inaccurate reading or a unit that won't hold temperature.
Danfoss ERC controllers like this one are built for commercial refrigeration equipment such as bottle coolers, cold rooms and back bar coolers. If your existing probe is cracked, corroded or reading temperatures that don't match reality, this is the part to check first.
